Could Idaho become a wind energy giant like Kansas and Texas?
Luke Papez discusses the Lava Ridge wind project being developed by Magic Valley Energy on a large stretch of Bureau of Land Management and state property across Lincoln, Jerome and Minidoka counties. Magic Valley Energy is an affiliate of LS Power, which currently operates two wind projects in New England. The Lava Ridge project could generate up to 1,000 megawatts of electricity making it the largest wind farm in the United States and offsetting a massive amount of carbon-intensive fossil fuel emissions.
